This policy is a working draft and will be reviewed by legal counsel before it is finalised.
1. Who we are
Roshni Homes Trust ("Roshni Homes", "we", "us") is a registered non-profit organisation based at Roshni Park, G.T. Road, Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan. We also operate in the United States as a US 501(c)(3) charity, with an office at 101 W 22nd St, Suite 108, Lombard, IL 60148, USA. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to run our programmes, process your gifts and keep in touch with you.
- Contact details you give us through our contact, volunteer, ambassador, corporate, visit, event and newsletter forms, such as your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, city and country.
- Donation records, including the amount, date, frequency, chosen cause, receipts and whether a gift is Zakat or Sadaqah.
- Account information if you create a donor or sponsor account, such as your login details and preferences.
- Sponsorship information, such as the number of children you sponsor, your plan and the progress updates we send you.
- Technical information collected automatically when you use our website, such as your browser type, device, pages visited and approximate location, through cookies and analytics tools.
3. Card payments
Card donations are processed by our payment gateway provider, United Bank Limited (UBL), using its Etisalat powered payment platform. Your full card number and security code are entered on the gateway’s secure pages and are never stored by Roshni Homes Trust. We receive only a confirmation of the payment, such as the amount, date, a transaction reference and the last digits of the card, so we can issue receipts and manage recurring donations.
4. How we use your information
- To process donations and sponsorships and send receipts
- To manage recurring donations, including changes and cancellations
- To provide your donor or sponsor account, including your donation history and, for sponsors, updates on the progress of the children you sponsor

We process your information to fulfil your donation or request, to meet legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in running a charity well, and with your consent where it is required, for example for our newsletter. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep the website and your account working securely. With your permission, we also use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our website. 7. Children’s information
We hold information about the children in our care to look after them. It is never published on this website.
